I was a neighborhood kid who walked up the hill every day as a member of the WA's first 8th grade class in the Fall of 1954 - the start of my life-long relationship with both WA and may great classmates. Kris Mineau and I were the only two members of that 8th grade class to graduate in June of 1960.

It’s not much (that SMU tuition is not going to pay itself..), but I have been reflecting on how grateful I am for how WA managed learning and school attendance and even activities during the 2020-21 school year. You took safety seriously while still maintaining high standards for learning, academic performance, and accountability. It was such a hard time for kids (and all of us of course) but I have a very clear sense of how my daughter benefitted from her education at WA, especially as I read articles about how even smart kids can’t read whole books, or don’t show up to class, or can’t have conversations with adults. You kept everything going, and our kids are better for it. So thank you.
