Julie asked Aliyah to sign a basketball for my daughter Isabella when Aliyah returned to the Hilltop in December to have her Jersey retired. (see attached photo). It was her favorite Christmas gift. Isabella is an avid basketball player and fan; we've already bought floor seats for when Aliyah and the Indiana Fever come to Washington DC to play the Mystics. Tom Blackburn impacted so many young student athletes during his tenure at Worcester Academy as an Athletic Director, Basketball and Baseball Coach. I was fortunate to have been coached in Basketball and Baseball during my post-graduate year. His impact on me goes beyond that because I had the opportunity to learn from him as a young coach. I can honestly say that what he taught me during those years as a player and a coach have helped me during my current coaching career. His wisdom, patience and demanding coaching style was what so many young men needed and he was the answer. Thank You Coach, you were one in a million.
